Test

Permeance

The test for permeance measures the permeability, or breathability, of the coating. A higher number means that the coating is more breathable. The high perm rate also allows for the reduction of instances of mold, mildew, and fungi that may develop with products that cannot breathe.

Elongation at Break Average

The test for elongation at break average measures the elasticity of the coating. A higher number means that the coating is able to stretch much further before breaking.

Tensile Strength

The test for tensile strength measures the amount of tension the coating can withstand. A higher number means that the coating can withstand a greater amount of pressure.

Cold Temperature Flexibility

The cold temperature flexibility test measures the coating's ability to withstand cold temperatures without cracking or losing adhesion. Results are determined in terms of pass or fail.

Fungus and Mildew Resistance

The fungus and mildew resistance test measures the coating's resistance to fungus and mildew, a major cause of discolouration. Results are determined in terms of amount of growth found on coating.

Adhesion

The adhesion test measures the coating's ability to adhere to various surfaces. Results are determined in terms of pass or fail.

Water Vapor Transmission

The water vapor transmission test measures the amout of water vapor that is able to penetrate the coating. A higher number means that more water is able to pentrate the coating; a lower number means that less water is able to get through.

Accelerated Weathering 4000hrs

The accelerated weathering test measures the coating's ability to withstand prologned exposure to water and light.

Wind Driven Rain

The wind driven rain test measures the coating's water rejection capabilities in high wind situations. Results are determined in terms of pass or fail.

Shore A Hardness

The Shore A Hardness test measures the coating's resistance to indentation. A higher number means that the coating is more resistant to indentation and penetratio

Flame Spread

The flame spread test measures the distance fire travels across the coating's surface. A lower number means that the flames spread a shorter distance; a higher number means that the flames spread further.
